A.J. Castro was born in Costa Rica and raised in Miami. He got his first taste of movie-making as a high-school student working with his childhood friend to write, direct, act, and edit his own works. A.J.'s passion for movie making transformed into a career as an actor. His first major on-screen experience was in the movie Transporter 2. Soon after that, he moved to Los Angeles and studied with the drama department at CSULA. Upon graduating college A.J. continued his acting education and has studied under Jeff Perry, Stan Kirsch, Second City, iO West, and Margie Haber to name a few.
A.J. is a seasoned actor with a range of credits in numerous TV shows, films, and commercials. Most recently you can see him as "Nestor" on NBC's "Mr. Mayor", and as "Lt. Vargas" in the film "Sauce Boys". He is currently working on his own scripted podcast and is writing both a drama and comedy TV pilot. A.J. prides himself on his work ethic and artistic vision. Married in 2014, and the father of two sweet girls A.J. is a family man, who is passionate about his work and tries to savor every moment. Outside of work some of his passions include basketball, board games with friends, and grabbing a nice margarita with his wife. |
